Hansen 50/50 surfboard info

Hi Everyone,

I have a Hansen 50/50 surfboard, and wanted to know if anyone knew about this board and what its value is.  I have added some pictures to give you a better idea of the condition of this board.  The board is approx 9’11" x 24" wide, with a molded in tailfin.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

always awkward to be left hanging, so I’ll throw ya one.

Rode a 50/50 back in later mid 60’s, fun ride, good beachbreak board, fairly popular design.

Value?   As a rider, probably $400 or so.  As a collectors item, whoever you can find willing to pay more…

Suggest you just wax it up and have some fun on it.

Yes ---- Had one just like it except the fin was white with a Mahogany center and a Balsa stringer just like yours.   Great board and in just as good a shape as yours.  A few years ago it was worth $1000— $1500.  No mas  .Collector boards are disposable income.  Most folks in this Obamarama economy have little income to dispose of. The fin is known as the “747” for it’s similarity to the vertical tail fin of the 747 back in the day.  Bill T. who frequents this site may be able to give you some info on the ##'s and the >>>

Board is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. And right now, seems like most collectors arent’ really pumping out cash to folks. Having said that, you could sell it to anyone for 3, maybe 5 hundred bucks. Its a fun shape though, why not just paddle out yourself? Boards are better when surfed.

rusty miller rode them very well.

a valuable study.

Robbieann,

It depends on where you are located and how much effort you want to put into selling it. Even in this economy a board like that could sell for over $500. From the limited pictures, it looks very clean. No leash cup, no hole drilled through the fin, and no visible brown spots. So it has value to a collector. Plus the 50/50's are pretty good riders, so it has vaue for that as well.

We took the board to the beach the other day.  It is so big that it took both of us to carry it.  We floated around in the cove, our puppy enjoyed it too.  One of these days we will take it for a ride, but not right now.  Too many sharks in the area lately.  Thanks for all the comments.
