Happy 10th Anniversary Swaylock's!

If you can believe it Swaylock’s turned 10 years old last month. What long strange trip it’s been! Congrats and thanks to all who have contributed both past and present to help make this place what it is. Exactly what that is is hard to define because Sway’s has evolved to something far greater than the sum of it’s parts. Nevertheless, I like what I see.

Stay tuned – great things are still to come,

Mike

Happy Anniversary, Mike, and thanks for putting this thing together.  Mike

Mike…

Yeah yeah yeah, hubba hubba, way to go…!!!..

You have been paying attention now, haven’t you…???..

happy anniversary mike, and thanks to everyone who has contributed to my addiction to foam, fibreglass and resin…

Wow, ten years!  Seems like just yesterday.  Thanks for this place to play Mike.  As much as my marriage and kids, Swaylock’s has changed my life in so many ways.

Congrats to Mike and all the Swaylocks contributors.  It’s been five years for me and still my daily addiction. I’ve also met some great new friends and learned a hulluva lot about board design. Here’s to another 10 years.

Marc

The above post is how Swaylock's looked on 10/22/2000 (sort of.... not all the HTML translated).  Check it out here...

Thanks Mike for creating such a cool resource!

This is probably a good place to wish everyone a Happy New Decade. Thought about launching a thread on the past one. 2000-2009 saw a lot of sh*t go down, and Sway's reported on most of it. I've had fun looking back at old posts from before I even knew this place existed.

Everyone be safe while partying like it's 2009.

My thanks to all Swaylockians that have participated. What a great learning place this is.

Happy decennial Sways! If this were a marriage the gift would be tin (aluminium in the US - there must be some way to that in a board?)

For all the craft and design and technology, this is a very real place, full of characters and dramas.

Here's to the next ten years.

Hey, thanks, Mike, and everyone else who has participated over the years. I’m more of a lurker now than ever - time demands elsewhere, but after (mostly reading) something like 9 years or so, I still go to Swaylock’s and get caught up in the stoke and essential arcana, and there is still nothing else like it anywhere on the net.

Kind of a nice surprise, seeing that old layout, with the indented thread lines and old Sway’s logo: it’s funny how you forget about something, but then one look, and it’s “Oh yeah!”.

And yeah, to the next ten.

Happy Birthday. This is still a great site. I miss Coral. (does anyone remember her besides me?) Has anyone actually learned how to do a Resin Pin yet???   Thanks Mike!!!

WOW!!!

It’s been almost six for me… (Thanks again “Uncle Dale” for pushing me into the Swater!)

I’d like to say, besides being like an addiction, it’s been like five + years in surfboard design grad school…  I trip out on how much I’ve read over the years about all kinds of aspects of board and material function.

As has been pointed out, this place has changed my life on the level of kids and incarceration…

baby goats in jail?

whadda life.
