I’m really interested in the “free range” model. Any west coast U.S. shapers do this type setup with the single or tri option egg ,or is it just foolish?

Ryan Lovelace (Santa Barbera) does a cool wingpin or rounded pin single, either with or without sidebites. The one above has the compsand-type treatment but I’ve also seen a couple pics of them in PU/PE construction.

Jake Moss (San Diego) does a pretty similar singlefin model he calls the Spacecake - lots of people swear by this one.
