Help identifying board, Velzy, Beetle Bailey???

Hey!

Newbie looking for info about a board, tried a few searches but did'nt get any smarter. So please school me...

 

I got this pretty bashed board a while back, it has a Dale velzy signature and logo, and "beetle Bailey signature model"

Well, it sure isn’t from the 60s. Late 80s or 90s, most likely.

I've seen the cartoon character. But I found this when I googled this name and found this: http://files.legendarysurfers.com/surf/legends/lsc405_1966.html

I mentions someone named Lynn "Beetle" Bailey. I don't understand all of it, but it seems to me, he was a surfer?! anyone hear of this dude? or can identify my board?
