Hi - I have a Hasen ~8’ longboard which narrows towards the nose. I am curious if anyone here has insight into the board model, era in which it might have been shaped and value. Unfortunately moving apartments and need to significantly trim the quiver…
Let’s see the bottom. Fin setup will help tell the tale. Leash plug would indicate “modern era”.
Thanks, are you able to venture any thoughts about the board, it’s potential origin story and value? Fun to ride, turns quite well.
Don’t know if he posts on this iteration of Swaylocks, but Bill Thrailkill worked for Hansen and is the expert on all things “Hansen”. That fin box and leash plug indicate that it is from sometime in the 70’s through 2000. How far back in the 70’s I can’t say because I am not sure what year Hansen began using Bahne fin boxes and leash plugs. My thinking is that the fin boxes came first and then leash plugs later in years. Maybe 80’s. I didn’t own a board with a modern day leash plug until the late 70’s (I think.) And I bought a new stick or two every year and frequented lots of surf shops. That “red” tint is not faded; so the boards is either newer or sat inside or bagged all the time. What’s your history with it? Any background? And yes; I believe it would be a good rider and nice turning board.
