I removed these boxes from a board I received from a friend a couple years ago. All he knew about it was that it had been used for two things. A sled for sliding down the snow covered sand dunes in winter and before that as a target for a bb gun. Needless to say it was in pretty bad shape. It appeared to be a ‘cut down’ version of an older Rick Surfboards longboard. I never got around to stripping the glass & reglassing it, so I decided to dig out the fin boxes and get rid of the rest. I did a search here on Swaylocks and didn’t come up with anything.
Thank you to all for your help in advance.

NOTES: fin box seems to be actually two pieces, the ‘box’ and also a bottom strip. I have 3 total, one of which the bottom piece is separated from the ‘box’.
I have a fin that fits it, but as you can see from the photo it’s broken. I think someone mentioned Guidance G fins. I had no luck tracking down a replacement, so I ended up just sticking another fin in there and filling the box with resin. It was for a 7’0" Hobie funboard from the early 70’s. I’m curious to see if you can track down the origin of that box. The board is no longer at my place in Surf City since it belonged to my brother’s girlfriend’s uncle in Ocean City. Otherwise, I’d invite you over to compare.
It is a Guidance G System. Looks like the base plate of the box just got loose. The fins for this system had the same dovetail shapes machined in their bases and they locked in without any screw just by pulling them back.
