Help with choosing fin for stubby

Hello. I’m in the market for a flex fin for a 6’8" x 21.5" X 3" stubby shape.The tail is 15.5".  Here is the outline below

It has full soft egg 50/50 rails that are a little pinched with an edge in the back 16" and spooned up front.

What size fin? I was thinking an Andreini flex or RFC TK FLEX? I’m going with rainbow fin company only.

Hi there ekim - I like the TK flex; I had one on my stub - lots of hold on hollow or reefy waves, plenty of snap out of the turns too - size? does it have side bites? maybe 8 1/2"

just curious, why only Rainbow?

i’d go with one of greg liddle’s flex fins by fiberglass fin co, or an A-flex andreini. I had an a flex and it was very good. My friend has a Liddle fin that I am envious of.

I like Rainbows too - the thing that’s nice about the TK is that it has a bigger tip and can hold in really well on curvier faces like beach breaks.  I had a “hull flex” by Rainbow that would tend to pop out if pushed too hard.  I also like the look of the Mikey DeTemple flex; it seems based off a Greenough 4A.

 

However, if that’s a Liddle board, you probably ought to get a Liddle fin! LOL

It was a Liddle.I traced the templated for my own board.It’s no hull.It’s flat bottom with hull rails and a bit more tail rocker. I have it set up as a quad but want to put in a fin box and try it out as a single fin.Probably do with a 9.25" Andreini flex.

Try messing around with the hard edge too as well as fin placement… i prefer the sharp edge right after the trailing edge of the fin usually if it goes up too far it can feel slippery to me

OK thanks guys. I’m going with a 9.25" Andreini flex fin. How far off the tail should I put the finbox? Someone said 10" box 9" off the tail? 

Andrieni Vaqueros have the back of the fin 10 1/2" up from the tail. But this board is no hull so should I go with the Harbor surfboard advice? 8 1/2" off the tail?

I need to tell my glasser quick where to put the box? PLEASE HELP!
