hemp fins tested

paul silly canon , if you’re out there …[and yes , I think you definately ARE ‘out there’ !]

…just to let you [and others interested] know …

Pascal / paz / ‘popeye’ here , tried out the hemp G6 template side fins for you , in his 6’6" thruster the other day . [I video’d him , so no photos available , sorry]

…I will leave it to him to report his impressions , if he wishes …

cheers !

ben

They certainly look very good!

I didn’t notice any problems with them, i.e. no humming, no spin outs.

I can’t offer any detailed feedback on how they performed because, quite frankly, there seem to be too many other variables in the equation (board design, wave shape or lack thereof, wind conditions and of course, most importantly, rider skill (or lack thereof)) that are far more noticeable to me than the fins I’m riding.

Having said that, I’d still like to try a hot swap sometime, i.e. change fins during a session, to see I can pick up on how different fins feel.

I will update this thread with a framegrab or two from the video Ben shot in the next day or so.

thanks for that paz !

yep , the fin swap mid session sounds like a good plan

i’ll also provide you with a fibreglass BACK fin , too, next time we hit it for videoing

cheers

[i’m outta here now ]

I’m not sure if this attachment thing is working.

Anways, here are some video stills from the day we tested Ben’s hemp fins.

If this does work, you should see 2 shots of Ben admiring his handywork, and then a couple of action shots, showing how the fins held up.

Oh bummer. Sigh, why is the way to upload pics to forums so counter-intuitive?

Here is a link to my Flickr account where you can check them out.

Please let me know if there are any problems seeing them.

Cheers

Right on Ben! It’s been a while in the making for these fins, great to see them getting wet! That’s a nice break you’ve got to try them out on too.
