Hemp Lamination

Hey legends…

I have recently acquired some 4.6 oz Plain Weave Hemp Linen. The supplier recommended it to me because other surfboard laminators have bought it. I am wondering if I could do a hand lay up with epoxy resin on EPS with it? My thinking is the schedule would be 4.6+4.6/4.6 or 4.6+4.6/4.6+4.6.

I know the rails are difficult to wrap with hemp but I have seen some pre-wrap them with spray adhesive. Thoughts? Am I biting off more than I can chew?

I have exhausted this thread and have seen helpful discussion concerning hemp inlays under 4oz glass, but is it possible to do purely hemp?

Thanks all

Hello, lots of info about materials on sanded.com.au

Cheers and good waves

Years ago Greenlight sold Balsa cloth. The cloth was stretchy. You would put 2 sided tape on one side and then pull the fabric around the board tight securing it with the 2 sided tape.
I think you could do something similar with the hemp. Pull it around the board and tape it in place before laminating. The spray adhesive method would also work.
