Herb- position of superchargers relative to C5

Herb, here is a quick intro before I hit on the question… I am an MVG team-rider of Mark Spindler’s (photo link at end of thread). I have been lurking a bit on this board to gain some knowlege before making the leap to participant, so I figure this question would be a good way to start. I would like to know what the position of your superchargers are relative to the Rusty (or any other board company doing similar designs) C-5? I ask because I am interested in trying out the “crossfire” configuration of which you recently spoke (in reference to your superchargers + Mark’s MVG’s) and since I am about to order up a few boards and can get them as a C-5 version, I figure if your superchargers are positioned in the same manner and fit into FCS slots, I will probably take the leap. Thanks for the info. http://www.eastcoastsurfer.com/sak/recentphoto/GregSakowicz-for-web.jpg

…I make 4 templates for a single fcs plug(like the C-5).Two of them ZERO in on thruster size fins, one is my GEN I style for people that have to have “a more fin looking” charger and my GEN III model, which is more progressive. A GEN III twin fin SC that was really my earliest of chargers to start with and was obsoleted , brought back and modified for larger twin fin use.Last my only GEN II template which sees little action due to my newer GEN III thruster SC.The GEN II job is geared for smaller grom size fins and 2+1 sidebites. …Placement is very simular to the C-5,BUT it has critical differences. My SC plugs are closer in distance to the main side fin as well the SC has less cant and toe… VS Rusty’s C-5 which has more toe and cant and is further away…plus his C-5s are huge compared to my SCs,my twin SCs are smaller than his standard C-5 CARNARDS…Herb

…I also have glue-ons,for better positionig due to different box systems, etc.Herb

Herb, What do you have for Futures?

Thanks Herb, useful info. It sounds like the plugs are better set with your specs in mind rather than just plunking the superchargers into an already C5-ed board. Any way you can post some pics of these various supercharger designs? I’m having a bit of trouble getting a full grasp on what you are describing. Sorry to pester you about it, but I tried doing a search on swaylocks and found little in the line of images. http://www.eastcoastsurfer.com/sak/recentphoto/GregSakowicz-for-web.jpg

…go to the photos on the resourses page …6ft boards #s 200,281,289 328 + lots more in this size range …8ft boards # 201 …there’s more but I can help you out better. …email me @

…My tabbed SCs will fit in the Future C-5 boxes. It may require a little sizing, but for the most part, a drop in conversion.I did this on two C-5 Futures one a Rusty and one a Mike Dawson.Just felt that they were at the limit for distance btwn fins and SCs. …I also have a set of vector C-5 canards that I got in trade awhjle back.Rusty’s catching up in some aspects.Herb

Herb, thanks for the info. I am having a bit of trouble finding those resource photos, but it is probably due to my being a noob. I’ll try to hit you with an email tonight (running to grandma’s house for the afternoon now), but if you want to beat me to it, my address is Thanks again! http://www.eastcoastsurfer.com/sak/recentphoto/GregSakowicz-for-web.jpg
