So I was down to a poor excuse of a rice paper sheet to run through my printer. It was wrinkles, rolled, torn…would have been better to throw it away.
I remembered as a kid how I could iron paper money and make it stiff and new looking (don’t ask). So I thought WTF, I’ll give it a try… I ironed the rice paper. Abracadabra like magic, a new flat sheet of rice paper. But wait heres the “better” part. Ironing the rice paper added static electricity to the paper and it stuck the 8.5x11 sheet of paper under it like it was glued
So to do it even better, I put the glue stick edge around the rice paper, stuck the rice paper to a 8.5 x 11 sheet. Then I ironed the rice paper to seal and create static electricity. It stuck to the 8.5 x 11 like it was already laminated down! I had to cut it to shape to get it to disengage from the sheet stock. It worked perfect, no more getting the little edges dragging through the printer head, no more lines in the lam, no more picking up lint, no more clogs, no more wasting paper.
It worked perfect.
