I have a 1991 Hitachi F-20A Clark Foam Modified planer. It was used to make one board so it is in great shape and comes with a manual. I would like to know how much it would sell for. Any ideas?
Post a pic. please.

Yes that is in good original condition. What it might be worth and what you can get may be two entirely different things. There is someone here who posts on Sways that does complete conversions of Hitachi planers. I’ll do a little digging and try to find his info for you… He changes the position of the handle and does the bearings. I am not sure that those early Clark conversions had the bearings done with sealed bearings. So there are a few little things to be done to your planer to make it worth a bit more. If there is demand that planer is worth a low$350 to a higher value of 5 or 6 hundred $$. It just depends on demand and whether or not there is current demand.
The Sways member is matt-price. surfboard planer.com is his website. S655.00 is the cost on a Complete conversion. He buys them wherever he can find them and does too many things to them for me to list here. Check out his website. Yours would have a ways to go to be worth that kind of money. But the depth adjustment and the base edges done, groove filled etc. Your planer is getting close.
matt price has complete conversion at that price though. handle relocation, new blades and vac attachement and all. his planers are pretty incredible by the way
Yes that price is a complete conversion out the door. But he has a price list on his site for various piecemeal improvements such as handle relocation, sealed bearings etc. Of course those things are done to a planer that you own and ship to him. So if a planer that he sells is completely tricked out, that should give you some idea of what yours would be worth. If I were selling a planer like yours, I wouldn’t spend any more money on it because there may not be enough return on investment for something like relocating the handle or sealed bearings. Of course if you made those improvements yourself it might be worth it if the demand is there.
What you say??? Sorry I missed it.
Whether it is a 110v or 220v.
I hope this helps. I also listed it in the marketplace category.
