Hitachi p20sb not cutting at 1/32

hi everyone,

 

The planer isn't cutting even at 1/32". I just took it out of the box from the store. am I doing something wrong? Do I have to adjust the blades first? I tried removing the blades and adjust them but it's difficult to remove with the tool provided. I don't want to give up though. any help would be great.

I was able to remove the blade cover. But if I adjust the blades, how do I know that it'll cut at 1/32"?

ok, I adjusted the blade (one of them). Still changing the other one.

Am I supposed to adjust the blades or adjust the front plate? There's some sort of foam in between the front steel plate and the front shroud or green cover.

You live in Santa Cruz?

There are a lot of Master Shapers up there.

Pay a visit to a Pro with your Hitachi.

I’m sure someone will tune it up for you or at least show you how.
