How's it going. Which is better, the older Clark Foam Hitachi Planer or the new modified Hitachi?

They are both fine. Some guys like myself prefer the looser action of the old one. There was one for sale here in the Surf Shop listings a day or two ago. The newer ones can be loosened up as well, if that's what you preferr.

I think you mean voltage. 120 volts. If you are in a country that uses 240 , you can buy a Variac off Ebay and dial it down.
no i mean watt’s, we measure the motor power in watt’s, like 650watt’s or something, Think you measure in amp’s ??
i use a transformer for 240v
I´ve the 2003 model and it´s 370 W and 3.4 Amp. I think they always took the original HitachiP20SB.
I have shaped more than 75 boards with it and no problem for now.
watts = amps x volts
Pretty sure the Clark Hitachis are 3.4 amps unless they’ve been rewound.
