hi i am new to surfing, and i picked up a surfboard. a guy at ron jon surfshop told me of this place to get more info about the board that i got. well here goes. it is a hobie peter pan slug, with b s 6109, 7’x 17 1/2x 22 1/a x 15x 3 1/8. it was carved by bill s, somthing he signed it but cant read it. anyway the guy at ron jon told me that he carved for hobie surfboards in rhode island, naragansett. any help of this would be awesome. thanks!
The name could be Bill Shrosbree. Bill has been shaping boards since the 1960’s up and down the Calif. He worked for Greg Noll, Hobie, Stewart , Sunset, and many others. He now has his own lable Fresh Pineapple in Encinitas Calif. The Salesmen most likely was thinking of Jim Phillips one of the true much revered masters in The board building industry.
I am sure that Bill never worked on the East coast.
