Hobie Circa '71 fish... anyone know how it rides?

I am going to buy a new fish in the next few weeks. I am considering a Hobie circa '71, mainly because I can get a new one for about 390 sanded with wooded keels or 440 if I opt for tints and polish. I would love to get a classic fish shaped by Rich Pavel but its a little out of my price range. I noticed that the Hobie fish has a shallower cut in the tail than the Pavel fish, how does the cut of the tail affect the way the board rides? Thanks for your help in advance.

the hobies look super fun to surf. pretty tight rails, almost a bit of belly in the bottom of the board, i forget what its like in between the fins, havent sanded one in a month or so.

go for it!
