Well I got a lot done already … time to start turning the rails … let’s hope I don’t screw them up?

I’ll start turning the rails this week … I’ll post some more pics as I make progress. They’re solid rails, laid up in 3/16" strips, coming out 2 inches from the frame …
I glued on one layer, then flush trimmed it with the router, then the next layer … etc. until I had 2 inches from the frame. Lots of work but they look good and should be very solid. I’m very interested in how the little bit more mass around the perimeter will affect the handling of the board in the water. One thing I know for sure … wouldn’t want to drop in on one of these … could make a mess out of your board if you hit it
