Does anyone have a receipe for making surfboard wax. My boyfriend is a big surfer and I wanted to make him some for Valentine’s Day. Thanks!
No no no no no no no nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
this was posted here awhile ago… ------------------------------- Basic Surf Wax Mixture: (Melt together at about 100F) 60-70% Paraffin Wax, 15-20% Microcrystalline Wax, 5-10% Petroleum Jelly, 5-10% Adhesive (Vistenex) Small amounts of Scent and dye. The amount of petroleum jelly and wax needs to be adjusted for the water temperature in your region. If the Temp is warm in your region use more wax and less petroleum. If the water is cold use more petroleum and less wax. The Microcrystalline wax and Vistenex give it the “stickiness”. Watch out it can get real messy.
Melt it into small hart-shaped tins and add some rose oil to the mix. How sweet, Rob Olliges
BIG SURFER…BIG WAX…BIG HEART SHAPE CAKE PANS…BIG WAX …YUH BIG WAX ambrose …i use small wax overand over…
Hey, go get some bars of wax from the surfshop and toss them into the microwave. Pour the stuff into a heart-shaped mold. Better yet just take a bar of wax and chop it into the shape of a heart (so it looks kinda manly) otherwise your boyfriends surf buddies are give him some grief… j k can’t believe I just responded to this… …sucked in!!!
I see a reality TV show in someones future: Martha Stewart watch out - Plusone is moving in. haha… Just kidding you Plusone
Wow a wax recipe! Now we can take the recipe, subtract “add dyes and scents”, and have some wax without all the obnoxious scents - or maybe the wax manufacturers could just stop the madness and produce straight unscented wax??
i dunno, i’ve always liked the wax scent. i’m sure there’ll even be root beer, green apple, and watermelon scents in the future, and i’ll buy it. as long as it works and stays cheap. my board is my love - she looks good and she smells good.
Ran out once and couldn’t get a hold of any around our house. pulled the wax off one of those big dutch cheeses. kneaded it some and applied it to my foot areas.(there isn’t much on an 1/8 of a cheese wheel.) it sucked, but it worked. wouldn’t rely on it though.
i hope you ate the cheese in between sessions and didn’t let it dry out and get hard in your fridge.
