i just wanted to let the world know about the best polyester board craftman in this busy industry,
his name is Renaud and currently shape in France for UWL.
he make the most accurate shapes, airbrush like a mad man and sands all the boards. he his able to do everything in a factory 10 times better than anyone…
CLEAN MACHINE HUM DADDY I choose to learn : cool rack headin the sanding room hey herbie/paul can we bend those outta veners? like sk8 decks? the shaping room for boards looks comfortable the shaping room for numericals doesnt look as clinical as star trek or x-files… the rest of the place is rightous…no truck size boards in production ? looks like only compacts and train lugage compartment sizes …accuracy is a fine goal…the factory is at least 30 times better than my yard maybe 42 times better…I wonder what else there is to learn… we made some paddles from wood off the beach saturday…ambrose…thanks for the tip
look at his UV stove, it super compact, look at his ventilation setup super efficicent.
look at his airbrush prep bay…the whole shop is immaculate.
i walked in some top name factory and i found that this one was the dream setup. every glassing rack is adjustable, there is a huge computer room to help with graphic, advertising.
i guess you dont need to learn nothing ambrose…other might.
…anything…the tour de force of the website was stimulating to my left brain beyond my wildest expectations .The color scheme was perfect as were the photo selection my father would have been pleased to work in such a fine machine shop .the lack of windows and artwork insure the highest concentration on the Perfecton of the medium and product. The surf videos were the most inspirational display of board control and acrobatics ever whitnessed by me I watched all the way to the end of whats his name riders video clip…the Imense body of information I gleaned from this hour of imersion cannot be measured by mere calipers and rule. thank you again for the voyuerist oppertunity to peer into a peerless facility they will surely change the world and deserve the first wave of every set…ambrose…I hope I can contribute to yoour certitude
Ambrose I second that statement.I first saw pictures of that factory a couple of years ago on the Suncure web site. The glassing racks are superb.THe whole setup is like a fantasy come true. You guys should check the shaping racks he has…a really neat innovation that allows him to keep the blank at a constant angle when in the pocket. The tanning booth style UV oven is nice.I had a design for one that would hang from the ceiling and run on tracks so you could lower it over the glassing rack without moving the board.Never built it though.Somebody has invested a lot of money in that operation…I wish them well.I have met French Craftsmen in the woodworking trade, they have a unique attitude towards work, really casual but geared to perfection.slow and easy.Long casual lunches with a bit of wine etc. not at all like our balls to the wall get it done yesterday pace.
