hot coat question - to overlap or not

the Master Glasser dvd says to hot coat the bottom and deck to mid rail,

which I understood to mean the deck and bottom hot coats don’t overlap.

questions:

  1. is this the way to do it? or should they overlap?

  2. why not overlap? (is it just to make sanding easier)

  3. he also said to hot coat the top first. Why?

I’m using RR epoxy, so to get my bottom hot coat on close to 24hrs

from the bottom lam I hot coated the bottom first.

  4. center is thick and rails are thin w.r.t. the hot coat, how do I know if I

have enough hot coat on the rails?

(should I do another layer?, just the rails or all over?)

thanks

hotcoat just to rail peak.

NO overlapping.

Sand down to first glass layer at rail, but more important, sand to fair the whole board.
