Hot coat wont dry!

So i am using suncure sanding resin and a little mekp. I sanded down my Previous layer, and mixed some mekp with sanding resin. I set i used sanding resin to glass my deck patch, wich might be the problem. I also glassed it when it was kinda misty and cold out, like 65-60 degrees. It feels almost half dry. Its not soaked and still has a little bond, but not fully dry and cured.

What do i do to fix this?

Put in the sun

Hi Hippo-

Shoot another thin hotcoat over it, that will help cure it.  Be sure to set it off hot and mix your surfacing agent in thoroughly.  I wouldn’t do it in misty conditions either.

Let us know if that helps.

Good luck-

So the patch dried all good. It must have been the sue in the air and the temperature. And brad what did you mean by shoot it while its hot? Because when i use catylyst i really cannot tell when to stop working the sanding resin. I dont know when the wax is starting to rise.

And does this look ok

it might have been cured but tacky cause wax didnt have time to rise. allow time for hotcoat to sit so wax can rise and make surface sandable. not sure if you are using UV resin, but let it sit for 5 min. if you are, then flash it in the sun, and let it sit for another 5 inside, then take it out for full exposure. if not UV, make sure you stop working with your brush so hot coat has enough time to sit undisturbed so wax can rise.

hope this helps

Morn Hippo-

Setting it off hot means to add extra catalyst so it kicks (sets) quick.

Hope that helps-
