How do you apply hot coat or gloss coat on a repair?

    Hello to everyone,

I am having some big trouble on applying hot coat or gloss coat.

    1.
      1. I am using brush or squeeze but resin never levels out. Always brush strokes or similar unlevelled lines appear when it hardens so when i sand the hot coat unsanded areas appear at the end.
      2. I am using epoxy resin by resin research (kwik Kick) adding ADDITIVE F (2% by weight only on the resin weight) as a sanding agent.
      3. weight of resin I am using more or less in my repairs is 5grams
      4. i am working on a more or less 20 - 25 Celcius enviroment.

Thank you for your valuable help

Getting repairs to blend in with epoxy resin is a bi itch.

Are you trying to hot coat the whole board or just the repair??  Make sure you sand down the area with 80- 100 grit and wipe down with denatured alcohol, keep it clean!!! I use RR and have had no  problems. Mabey resinhead wil chine in He’s the man.

I normally follow the cheap and easy method, but I’m not a high dollar repair guy.

      poly: spray with poly.

epoxy: spray with acrylic. or wetsand and polish/buff if my friend is really picky, or brings me really good beer.
