I am in the middle of glassing my board and between sessions, It has gotten smudged and dirty. I was wondering what you all use to clean these things up.
is there foam exposed or have you lam’d both sides?
acetone
acetone works best, if not nail varnish remover!
There is no foam showing. I was under the impression that acetone could make the board less durable.
I had one that boths sides were lam’d and the deck hotcoated, I was going to route for Lokboxes and got side tracked for over a week.
It was bottom side up and had gotten a load of factory dirt glued to the exposed laminating resin.
I first started using all the cut offs from the finer grit sand paper, but it loaded up instantly and was nothing but grime. I grabbed a hand full of fiber glass scrap, folded it so the ragged edges were tucked inside and soaked it in acteone, scrubbed til it was filth and did the same with more glass until it wiped up clean only, my fault for putting off today, what I should have finished.
“blue” alchool…
I dont´know the name…
buta acetone is the best…
wipe with paint thinner, but ya gotta use the strong stuff you can get from the automotive paint supply not the weaker version found at home depot.
brasco
ive always used some offcut glass dipped in styrene.works wonders…good luck.
