How Many Boards Do You Bring To The Beach??

Surfing now a days is great and rough at the same time!! So many choices of

surfcraft that can be ridden without getting beat up, laughed off the beach,

or sand kicked in your face. Now more then ever I find the need to bring a

variety of different boards to the beach. There is something to be

said about the one board for everything, all arounder guy that rips in all conditions, but

versatility, riding what the conditions, and my mood depicts is also fun.

What is normal? How many boards do you Bring to the beach?

No more than 2, usually 1.

For security reasons, only one. But sometimes it’s a different one. Does that count?

Ride on,

Tom

Lately Four:

The Liddle hull

2 logs-one vintage, one turny

A fish

Oh yeah and the raft, so make it five (or four and a half).

I can cover a lot of scenarios with this quiver…

Please don’t break into my car!!!

usually between 2-3 boards. I got a friend living right on the beach ( 20 meters from waterline). sometimes I bring 2-3 boards and end up with one from his quiver…

any way,

I take my homebuilt 6’2 shortboard thruster.

along with that i bring either my 6’4 x 19.5 x 2.5 tuflite or my 7’4 funboard

and ofcourse i bring my doom’s day weapon , my homebuilt 10’2 longi.

when it gets crowded or when the surf is realy big, I take the 10’2 or an 8’2 “big shortboard” and paddle out to the 2nd or 3rd break. there I can surf quietly and alone.

lee.

I just bring one but am always talking my friends into exchanging boards.

2 boards one being a short or mid length (6'2",6'10",7'0", or 7'4") and a LB (9'0" performance or 9'4" cruiser) If I know it's only going to be thigh high at best then I just take the 9'4". I usually start on one of the shorter boards and finish up on one of the LB's.

usually three or four. i make my mind up once i’m there.

well I live half a block from the beach so my quiver is almost always there. but 98% o the time I bring one board to the sand, every once in a while I will bring 2.

I only take one. Sometimes I check the surf first, sometimes I check the buoys, sometimes I just go blind. Occasionally, I might feel like I was surfing the “wrong” board for that day, but hey, there is always tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after that…

one

Two one for each foot!

I live a half block from the surf, so I don’t have to bring any. They are already there.

One Board and 5 sets of fins.

So the answer is: Five Boards.

2

My newest creation, and something Trusty.

I bring 2, 1 for me and the second to run over Grant and Rad Rob

…I live 1 block from the surf so 1 board and I use a bike or the Velosolex…no room for more boards under my arm

also is a town in a cape

and its very easy to know in which beach there s the right condition without moving from your home (local knowledge…you know)

-I have a customer that I build a quiver but the guy always use the same board…

I asked him why …the same board?

he answer always that oh I bring only this and I dont want to go back home to pick up…

and the guy use a big Chevrolet truck…I dont understand
