I got my balsa skin with redwood false string vacuum bagged on to the eps core, and while in the bag the skin rotated slightly.
At the nose the stringer is about 1/8" to the right of center and at the tail the stringer is about 1/4" to the left. These measurements are over approx. 6’10"-7’. The final board will be a 6’8" tri/quad/five wide flyer like short board. It is based on the clark 6’8"R rocker.
So the question is if I template the board so the false stringer is the center line will this produce enough twist to matter?
or should I template the board on the true center line and allow the false string to be slightly diagonal across the board?
ambrose, thanx for the comment. I guess the real question is would that small amount of twist make any difference.
I’ll give a little more information. This is only the bottom skin of a flat-bottom balsa-compsand. The bottom skin has a single false stringer, while the top skin will have 3 false stringers. Keeping the stringer as the true center line would make the rest of the construction a little simpler though if this small amount of twist will have impact I’ll cope with the diagonal stringer.
