How to clean dirt from epoxy?

My pigmented white epoxy board with sanded finish is picking up colors like everything that touches it is a crayon, how can I clean it without sanding it down so I can spray it with some kind of sealant to prevent this from ahppening again?

If you have an airbrush machine you can get some clear coat and give it a pray down with a comercial spray gun kinda like a speed spray. I know you said you dont want to sand but If you wet sand it with like a 600 grit wet or dry sand paper that should fix the problem. I have an epoxy board and it was finished with a 600 grit wet polish.

Thanks supreme, I have no problem spraying it after… I just dont wanna have to sand the board down anymore becuase its already got a pretty thin hot coat… I was just wondering if theres any cleaners like chemicals or something for epoxy to get the dirty hand prints and random coloring off of it before I clear it.

Don’t worry about “a kinda thin hot coat”, 600 sandpaper won’t take enough off to make any difference at all.

you can also use a cleanser like Comet or Ajax, which contain abrasives; or rubbing compund, or powdered pumice… there are more/others.

If you intend to spray, you’ll have to get it really clean. Chemical cleaners/solvents won’t do that on a sanded finish. You’re in for some abrasive, just gotta pick your material, do the work, then clean off dust and residue to get a good spray finish.

I’d clean it with some citrus oil based cleaner first. Good for removing grit(and wax). Then some denatured alcohol, then sandpaper.
