How to cover ugly glass job?

Okay, I admit it. My first layer in my first glass job (give me a break guys, it was the first time doing anything with fiberglass) came out kind of ugly. there are some impurities etc, I probably touched it too much, or got something in the cloth, I don’t know. Anyway, how can I paint this thing after the fact so that no one can tell? Once it’s sanded it will be fine, but I need to cover this up. Can you paint under the hot coat? How do you do a resin swirl? Also, I saw something on here about sharpies, but i’m not sure how to do any of this. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Nathan

  1. From Mr Clean. a) Finish the board, b) tape off the ugly into a design or pattern. c) get automotive laquer paint…all sorts of colors. d) spray paints in taped off area. e) take paint brush with laquer thinner and throw blotches of laquer thinner on taped area. f) peel off tape g) cover with clear a spray paint.

effect will look like either a resin swirl, or a marblized effect.

Other things to cover your board will take more skill than your first board knowledge. Probably best thing is to surf the ugly bastard, and make another one even better…Join the cult of Swaylocks, welcome my brother.
