how to get foam dust of of your clothes

Im shaping my first surfboard and i cant seem to figure out a way to remove the foam dust my clothes when im done shaping… any advice?

throw on the garage floor for my girlfriend to wash

OPS " happy wife happy life"  blow off (in bay) then throw on garage floor.

Shape Naked

I usually leave one set of clothes in the shop until I’m done shaping that batch of boards.

Then I shake them out and wash them BY THEMSELVES.

If you have a compressor, just get one of those blaster nozzle attachments and blow yourself up…I mean, OFF.

No compressor? Go to the hardware store or lumber supply and get a Tyvek hazmat suit. Wear it when shaping or sanding and just blast it with a garden hose, occasionally.

Those suits don’t cost much.

other options if you don’t have access to a compressor:

air pump for air mattresses (there are battery/rechargable ones, fairly powerful but loud)

air blower (some shop vacs come with a removable one)

big wallpaper-type brush will help to some degree

separate work clothes make sense –  don’t wear your everyday stuff or they will turn into work clothes.

Buy ticket to  Sandy Beach Hawaii. Swim out in the shore break and get sucked over the falls two or three times.

You will be clean as a whistle. Even gets glass dust out of your skin.

I actually was trying to engineer some kind of a deal that would hold the nozzle of my leaf blower. That sucker is powerful.

The idea was to have an air shower area. I bet it would work unreal. What do you fools think??? Are we on to something?

Leaf blower good! Have a blast.

I like the wash job @ ah secret spot…

Anyone ever try the blue anti-static jump suits? Been wondering if they help?

This! Sometimes I freak my family out when I come in from the garage in my underwear…

Roger this will only get your ass full of sand. Then you’ll be spending a long time in the shower trying he get that sand out of your ass, and some big drunk Hawaiian from Waimanalo who’s in a hurry will be pissed at you for taking soo long and he’ll pound you into poi and eat you with dinner.

I put the shirt and pants on the side outside my house and use them again and again until they need to be thrown away. Sometimes it will rain and they get washed a bit, sometimes I shake them out then thrown them in a wheel barrow and rinse them out, then throw them on the side to dry out. Grab them when I need them again. Got 2 long sleeve shorts and a pairs of old jeans sitting outside right now.

Clothes?

You guys wear clothes?

Next to a planer, air compressor is a key.

Dust is like the sand on the beach.

You take it with you everywhere.

Pretty sure it runs through my veins too.

Use better foam. it is called eps

Cleanlines, I think you are on to something. It would not be hard to plumb a shower with two or three nozzles to a blower. I know what you mean. Mine is really powerful too and way more CFM than the compressor. The “shower heads” can be actuated by blast gates from a dust vac. system. A small room with a ventilating fan at the other end to remove dust/air at the same time.Call me a fool…I think it’s a great idea.

Sounds better than naked shaping. That’s nothing. Try laminating nekkid.

I shape and glass and sand in a tiny work space so instead of blowing it around with the air compressor I turn to my 6.5HP Rigid Shop Vac more often to control dust etc on the material I’m working on.  I disconnect from my compression fit planer hose plumbing and just slip on the round brush attachment, it works great to clean dust off of blanks without scratching or denting them, as well as my arms legs face hair clothes.  I don’t give a second though to running the vac/brush over my face head body whatever but my wife thinks it’s funny

I messed around with the electric leaf blower today. I just rigged it to a post outside in the yard. No need for any fancy rooms or exhaust fans. We arent talking about that much dust anyway.

It was getting me clean as whistle until the hose broke loose from the tree and about whiplashed my ass.

We are on to something for sure. just needs som tweaking. The nozzle needs to be mounted so it can be raised or lowered. I don’t think a downblast like a shower will work.

A flexible hose with a nozzle that can be hung up or hand used. Just like the Ladies’ favorite shower “accessory”.

You can set up other nozzles at same time at different heights.

“Hosing” off at and M1 shop outdoors would be no biggie but at home it would be nice to go with a room and vent fan to a wet towel or bag.

Every shop will need one. A new meaning to Cleanlines.
