…in reply to three requests in the last week ,

[eg:

" Hi Ben

I cannot post photos anymore because of the size limit thing. I went onto PhotoBucket and opened an account. I do not know how to take the photos from Photobucket and post them onto Swaylocks. Do you know how to post photos using Photobucket?

Thanks “…” …

… okay…

[i’ll see if i can get this right without going there ]

after you go to www.photobucket.com , and open an account there …

step 1 …‘internet explorer’ [mozilla firefox doesn’t work for this , for me at least]

step 2 … [browse]

choose photo

[upload photos]

step 3 …when photos are in ‘my album’

click on photo wanted [to enlarge it]

step 4 …right click

[copy]

then go to the swaylocks discussion [like this box i am typing in ]

right click where you want the photo to go in this box …

[paste]

voila !

the photo should appear ! …

…I hope this helps ?

cheers !

…of course , I would also like to read what other systems people use , with step by step directions , when you post your larger photos here …

and , WHICH ones are compatable with the ‘Mozilla Firefox’ programme , please ? …

Who can tell us how to paste photos using a Mac and Safari?

I use Safari on a Mac and my method is to use my Flickr account. I would imagine that potobucket has something similar as well as other photo sharing sites.

When I have uploaded a picture to my Flickr account, I can go to see it in my photostream, and then click on it to get to a bigger size. From that page Flickr gives you two chouce for coding, a ‘static link’ with an adress like www.flickr.com/xyz123.jpg or something like that, and you copy that and use the markup line in your swaylocks post, just click on the markup help link on the posting page and go down to the right code line. Basically there are 2 image tags, and you put the link to your pic in between the image tags. (the ‘static link’ from Flickr)

I stopped actually uploading photos a while ago because even before the size limit it wouldn’t always work properly (Safari incompatability I guess), and I have never been able to get the ‘copy’ function on a picture to paste it into an e-mail or posting to work off my Mac. Not sure why on that one.

Hope it helps Kendall

Like this?

Wow… cinchy. Thanks.

If you have personal webspace from your internet service provider you could probably use that.

Went thru this about a year ago. Here’s the link to the thread.

Hey Chip,

I use ProPicHosting.com to hold my pictures. In my folder they give me a Direct URL address for my pics.

Here’s an example.

To post I hit the picture button in the reply screen then paste the http address from ProPic into the window the click submit.

Here’s another example.

Seems to work pretty well for me.

My only problem is that all my pics come out the same size once they’re posted. I’ve tried reducing the file size but the pic always post the same size, which I think it too large.

Good luck.

Thanks Blaine. Yeah, that’s me in Costa Rica over Christmas. The first couple days were about twice this size, then we got this for the rest of the trip.

Too bad about not hooking up. I was on Oahu, but only for a few hours. I’ll be in Kauai again in a couple weeks. I’ll also start spending more time on Oahu. We’ll get it together one of these times. I saw photos from the SUP contest with Titus on his new board. I figured he must have just picked it up there.

One thing that’s good to remember is that the picture isn’t too wide for the screen.

About 700 pixels wide is good, otherwise you have to scoll sideways to see the picture and the text of all the posts extends off the side of the screen…

But Hixy…

I like that picture.

Some things are worth scrolling for…

well chipper ,your instructructions confused the hell out of me.

Let’s see if this works!

this is what i use for installing fin boxes

OK

I can post photos agian!

Now I need to figure out how to make them bigger.

AND…

How do you post more than one photo at a time using photo bucket?

thanks for the help
