How to read dimensions on a Rusty

Maybe a dumb question, but I can’t seem to make sense of the many measurements on a Rusty shortboard I have. I’ve seen several and they all have very detailed measurements on them, I’m just not sure what they all are. I can pick out the obvious (nose, tail, mid, length, etc.), but the rest is a mystery. Anyone know what the rest of these are? I have a 6’5" Hipster that I’m trying to copy for my girlfriend, and if there are more measurements that would make the templating more precise, I’d love to know them. Anyone?

…The numbers should dictate what it is,without any doubt.Herb

…2 and 2 before…

Lay a piece of template material on the bottom and just trace it.Use calipers to get thickness numbers. rb

He has all kinds of info there, standard L-W-N-T, rocker at same points and possibly fin placement too. Somewhere on the WWW there was a detailed explantion, maybe Surfline or even Rusty.com. Like Herb said, if you look closely it will all come together for you.

Green Barrel,

There was an article on Rusty.com under Tech Talk sometime ago.

After the serial no. and blank info there are 4 groups of numbers. The first group is width: nose @ 1’, middle and tail @ 1’. The second group is thickness: nose @ 1’, middle, and tail @ 1’. The third group is rocker: nose, nose @ 1’, tail @ 1’, and tail. The fourth group is 2 sets of numbers for fin placement. Which are distance to rear of side fins and center fin. This article had good info as well on fin toe-in and tilt.

Dave,

That’s what I was missing… the last grouping - the fins. I figured it had something to do with that, but wasn’t sure. Thanks again!
