how to remove a decal from a surfboard?

I have BIC ACS 8’4’’ Magnum (new one) and I want to paint it (uni posca markers). But it is very hard to remove original decal from it. Any suggestions, how to do it?

hey…use a hair dryer or a heat gun but go easy as not to damage the board itself…keep the heat moving…if its painted on sand it off

if it is a sticker try just pick it off, heat/hot water work, and also you can use some goof-off r a similar solvet product like acetone.

I’ve done it by scraping with a single edge razor blade. Of course this assumes that its on top of the glass, not in it.

and the winner is… nail polish remover (acetone)!!!

Thanks folks! Two hour, two bottles of nail polish remover, one paper towel and one heineken and ma board is ready to paint!
