Any advice?
Don’t know why you would do that. Router out the old fusion and put a new fusion in.
I agree… why? Fusions are way better, IMO. Get a Fusion template, take out the grub screws, rout out the old plug, then either reinstall a new Fusion and glass over, or glue in a foam insert, shape to fit, glass and hotcoat, then install the new FCS plugs, using the proper template and bits.
just because i’m not able to found an fcs fusion plug around here ina short time…and i already have some “normal fcs compatible plug” with me
…any advice
www.greenlightsurfsupply.com can probably overnight you one… just sayin’
Other than that, the advice I gave is good, but pretty general. What other details are you looking for?

I guess I agree with the other posters that you might want to just get a replacement fusion plug and learn how to do it but if you still decide to go the FCS x 2 route, here’s some advice:
If you have to install 2 fcs plugs, I would spring for the FCS kit - it’s about 135.00 or so and it’s great. It makes
the whole process go much better than hacking away at it. You NEED to have the router, the drill, the H-pattern tool, the scraper, everything in the kit
to get a really good plug. Once you use the kit, your fin plug will be really solidly against the deck with a nice H-pattern hole. I had to do my FCS plugs
twice after breaking one (FCS plugs crack and break sometimes). The first time (no kit), the 2nd time with the kit and it’s really solid now. 135.00 sounds like
a lot of money but when you realize how many plugs you can do and how solid your board will ride, it’s well worth the investment. I got mine from Surf Source in Atlantic Beach, FLA.
One other minor comment: when you put the plugs in, make sure to check whether or not the original plugs were put in by hanging them from the tabs to get the right height or not that way. On my Al Merrick Flyer II, I had to NOT rely on just hanging the plugs from the tabs, I believe I had to put them in a little
deeper - good thing I noticed. But you need to drill with a grit bit, then route the hole, then H-pattern, then clean up, then install the plug to the right depth.
And prepare the fiberglass well before you redrill the holes out. Make sure the board is completely solid before you start drilling (ie. fix the dinged up
area where the fusion failed).
Just my 2 cents after some bad experiences. You may be a better kluger than me.
Yo Tuckyboy-
They have a point! Best to route out the old and put in new Fusion plugs, we can get them to you pronto if you need them. If you still want to use your X2 plugs you might be able to route out just the plugs area and drop in the X2’s. Be sure to follow the correct instructions so the plugs don’t break.
Best of luck.
