hey so I am shaping 2x HSW 6ft retro fishes right now. I have had not trouble with the 1st one but the 2nd board has be a heap of trouble with gluing down the top skin. I am guessing it is the grain patten of the timber as its done it in same place in both the book matched areas and thats it
I have a system that normal works well for me but on this board i had several cracks happen in the skin. I glass the under side of the deck ( 6oz) so the skin is still together but it has some ugly stress cracks in it. the skin is 5mm redwood glued up out of 50mm planks. I know that they will be coverd by wax but the board is for a customer.
what i want to know is if any one has any good ways of making them disappear? I am thinking of after the board comes of the rocker table trying to fill the cracks with epoxy and clamping down on top of the crack closing the crack alittle and then sanding. Any thoughts?
cheers antony
