humming keel fins?

so i have a 6ft retro fish that i shaped a few months back its my 4 board and i made the keels and foiled them myself. they seem to be humming or chattering when you rip down the face of the wave. what have i done wrong and how do i fix?

i am guessing i have not got the foil right or something or maybe not glassed heavy enough to the board?( these one of my 1st glass on of fins)  anyway can i fix it or will i have to live with it or replace the keels? cheers antony

Hi Antony,

Not sure if this will help with the keels , but try sanding (lightly rounding off) the trailing edge of the fins if they are sharp. Worked a treat on a retro twin I had. Someone here suggested it, just a quick rub with some 400 grit and it was sweet.

i found with mine that the LEADING [front ] edges of my keels were different too, so a bit of sanding was needed to restore that …
