Hurricane Rita

This isn’t a design issue, but another big storm is on the way, headed straight for Galveston, Texas.

Richard McCormick, a member of Swaylock’s lives on Galveston Island, hope that nothing happens to him, his family or his shop, he’s a good man always ready with suggestions and solutions to problems,

Looks like another wave of consequence.

I hope eveyone can somehow ride it out, and live to tell the tale.

Austin crew, get safe!

See you soon.

yeah it really seems to be the gulf coasts time this year. the devistation that katrina and rita will cause through out that region will be several times worse then damage that florida took last year.

i know my thoughts and prayers are for the people of texas.

i always feel really bad when i hope for hurricanes to bring surf to the east coast, but then when the cause such devistation i wish they wouldnt.

good luck to everyone in the region.

Ressesion, Gas lines, inflation…here we come.

Note: Marine Buoy # 42001 - Mid Gulf of Mexico, 180 nm South of

Southwest Pass, LA. recorded a pressure drop of -0.70 in/Hg

in just the last hour with significant swell height reaching

38 feet with a 13 second period from Hurricane Rite.

At least, they seem to get off-shore winds. I guess it’s not as bad as on-shores.

No need to apologize, your English is fine, better than a lot of people’s that are native speakers!

Surf was firing on the midcoast beaches yesterday.

The upper coastal areas are in for a rough ride I’m afraid. Keep them in your prayers.

latest image of Rita, scary.

Hurricane Rita is moving north-west at 10mph (16km/h). Its hurricane-force winds extend up to 85 miles (140km) from the centre, and its tropical storm-force winds 205 miles (330km). A hurricane warning is in effect along a 450-mile (724 km) stretch.

I live in Houston and wish I could of evacuated to Corpus or S. Padre… they’re getting some amazing surf. Instead I’m still in Houston right now… I’m waiting for my electricity to go out any second now. I’ve got all my windows boarded up and am waiting for this bitch to hit. Well anyways here are some pics of the surf along the coast that came from Rita…

There was a major evacuation from the upper coast with images of Katrina dancing in our heads. Rita ended up going ashore around the Texas Louisiana border. I got back to the Surfside area this afternoon and found the area in really good shape. (Surfside itself is not in such great shape.) I was probably one of the first dozen people back. Electricity was on (electric water well pumps) and no major limbs or trees down for the most part. It appears we only got gale force winds here. Going to patrol for looters tonight until more people get back.

Louisiana got a one two punch. Their levee is breached in at least two places now and New Orleans is filling with water again. Good thing most everyone in that area is gone.
