Sorry, Herb, the post not intended as a knock, just my attempt to take the idealism down a notch in a humorous way. Maybe it’s just me but whenever I hear something that sounds like the hippie sentiment of the 60’s, I think of the punk generation that followed. Yin/Yang?
Hey Herb be watch out with that fast pitch softball stuff.You aint no spring chicken anymore.I was screwing around with some neighbor kids and decided to show of my amazing abilities in softball pitching.Well…I sprained my elbow or something and worked one handed for a week. I wasn’t knocking you or anyrhing either,just stating the way things go,you know.As far as the punk thing I was in England in 77’ . Came back to the states and cut my long Ted Nugent hair off and listened to stuff like the Sex Pistols,Gen X,Shame 69,etc.etc.etc. Just about all my friends I knew dis-owned me on the spot.So after the rush,I grew out my hair and settled down ,only to watch my so called friends go punk in 79-80’.Again they dis-owned me for not sticking with it,I guess? When all the time I was going to live dress rehersals of the tv show Fridays and meeting bands like the Plasmatics,999,the Ramones and The Clash.,My So called friends,you ask,what punk did they listen to?..Devo,The Go-Gos,Flack of peegulls…to name a few of the hardcore stuff they were into…half-assed-punk is what I called it…Only one of my friends stuck by me but prefered rock,and was the first person to present Judas Priest to me in like 78’…Soon after,I was to be one of the most sought after celeb-star,impersonators in the business.Even David Lee Roth hired/hung-out with me.(Billy Idol).

Left out one big important band/celeb I met back then…INXS.Michael had a presences that I have not felt to this day… by anyone…not even close(I miss you).He’d show up from time to time when the band was in town.
