First boards I’ve built in a couple of years - seems each time I overcome a few traps for young players , only to discover a couple more…
sand throughs, this time. I’m not used to 4 oz cloth ( these are 4 bottom , 4+6 deck).
A long time Sways contributer gave me rocker numbers for the 7’2 , cheers for that
the fish is inspired by the Miller f skate , Neilson FFF, Rusty modfish, and virtually everyone who makes a fish derived model with a pulled in tail.
fins layed up cut n foiled by moi
I got shrewd this time and de flashed the fin boxes with a router
I baptized them both on saturday - they feel good in the water but performance wise I don’t really know yet , I can’t surf to save myself just at the moment.

Nice gift, and nice of you to break them in for her too!
Sand throughs with 4 oz - oh yeah, so easy to do! One of the things I like about 6 oz. - a bit more margin for error. 4 under the 6 on the deck patch is good. Boards look good - fins too! Next time give us some "in the process" photos too, not just the eye candy at the end - we is board builders!
Haha … no , not Indo , and certainly not Auckland - the Maldives.
I won’t say exactly where , but a well known spot that’s certainly on the well beaten path.
Me again - not exactly ground breaking stuff I know , but I was pleasantly relieved that I did as well as I did , considering what a donkey fest my surfing life’s been over the last couple of years.
This is our surf guide , who flat out rips -
A good time was had by all -
actually there’s a few things both joyful and sinister going on in the Maldives at the moment , but I’ll start another thread about that .
