i found a bz blackball beater in the trash ! but................

Herb,

Did you rip off the whole top, or are the rails original? I’m trying to decide if I should shape beveled rails or round rails on this. I might just vac bag the original top back on and then trim it, but I kind of wanted to put new hydroturf on it (wife made a good point, “Why spend anymore money on it?”). I got the FCS boxes from Basham’s.

no ghosty,

ken and i just pulled the bottom off,i kept the skin on because is was in good condition.

i just added the hydroturf on the deck for more uniformity.

let me ask you this,,,,,will the fcs boxes for softies fit regular hardboard fins,eg."g-3's".

i think with the right fins i could power-up a whole lot more.

i have extra hydroturf if you want some......... let me know.

Yeah, the FCS plugs fit regular fins. They’re like Fusion boxes in that you have a little fore/aft room.

So I shaped a little round stub, kinda like the beater boards. I did a dry run with the vac bag and figured out how the stock squared off nose and tail fit the top skin a lot better than my round ones. Now I guess I’m going to have to make relief cuts and somehow join the seams, unless someone has a better idea?

3’6 x 17.5. My son’s only 30-something pounds so this should be plenty of float for him.

try a heatgun and glue.

Pretty much finished the grom’s beater board. I just need to cut a relief in the corner of the tail. I used 3M 90 spray adhesive, saran wrapped it, then vac bagged it (top is the original blue foam, but the picture is showing the white breather cloth in the bag). We’ll see how it goes this summer.

wow!

it looks nice!

hope it works as well as mine!
