I have recieved aGreg Loehr wave weapons board and would like to know more about it

Good morning,

I have just recieved a Greg Loehr Wave Weapons Surf Board with Fox Logos from my uncle whom passed away recently.Since I do not surf I just want to know what type of board it is and if it is a good board or not to start a friend off with on thier first surf board collection. The numbers on the board  are 5’10" G.L. 6432 SL , I would greatly appreciate any and all help.

Thank You

That looks like a super clean example of an earlier eighties board. I would have really been digging that when I was 12 or so…

Exactly the type of board that didn’t generate much interest a few years ago, but that is being revisited as guys in their 40’s/50’s hit the nostalgia/collecting age. Plus, in my very humble opinion, boards from that era are still a lot of fun to surf. Wider planing surfaces, a bit of volume, lower rocker - I have a 6’6" G and S from that period that I prefer over a fish in small summer surf. Again, just my two cents worth.

Thank you very much for the info.  It was alot of help .

Greg did a lot of boards for John Parton’s Fox Surfboards during the 80s. He’d rough out 15 or 20 up here in Indian Harbour Beach, then drive them down to Palm Beach and fine-shape for a day.

Cool board, looks like its in great condition. Keep it in a sock or bag if you want that color to hold up. Any UV light will degrade it over time.

Wow, that thing is in awesome condition - a perfect example of the kind of boards we were discussing in Barry Snyder’s “Rebel Yell” board thread.  If I had the money, I’d buy it off you right now.  Just out of curiosity, where are you Wizzy?

Definitely a board worth giving to someone who will appreciate it (not a snot-nosed beginner).

I’m in Florida. Yes it is in very good condition for an early 80’ board. And yes ever since I posted and asked what this kind of board it is, I have been getting a lot of people interested in it.

I have one of those boards, although mine isn’t in as good of condition as that one. I think my serial number is in the 4000’s. I’ll need to take some pictures and post them up here. Thanks for the history lesson.
