I located similar OTF (on-the-fly)adjustment Planer parts!

Ok, Folk’s I am biting the bullet to try to modify depth adjustment for Hitachi planer p20sb. I have a slight prob - the closest Lowe’s is 60 miles away and I’m hoofing it… can anyone send me a link where I can buy the parts online? Or are there alternative parts I can substitute at home depot? I’ll try ace hardware may be they can order parts for me?

Also, I need to know the size, or proper Part for (lock collar). And would auto zone have it, or O’Reilly auto parts?

Please tell me what else I need -I’m biting the bullet! Gonna do my otf mods! Part #'s coming! My hot/cold faucet part is --the equivalent to the part NEW LEAF USES. If anyone - could steer me to the locating of “lock collar” I would really appreciate it! Also, if there’s anything else I need -let me know. This is awsum I kinda pulled the employees arm a little to search for -the HOT/COLD FAUCET STEM…AND I ABSOLUTELY WAS STOKED SHE HAD IT!

HOPE I got the right compression spring! Here’s the pic of pvc parts together - I think I picked the right one’s?

Ok, friends - JOT the critical part # we need!

Faucet Stem Am. Standard style F8-3UE 162 HOT-COLD

PART # 40187

Note: it looks EXACTLY like the part our friend – NEW LEAF uses! let me know what you think!?note: i got it at ACE HARDWARE!!!

The key is how far it travels in half a turn.  Ideally it travels 1/8" or more in half a turn.  They all look kind of alike but some have a finer thread.  Hard to tell from your pic.

Hello -Mako224! Thanks for the info.I gave the mgr the part # for New Leaf’s hot/cold water stem, and they told me the part I got is the equivalent. I hope so! Bcuz once I cut, resin / epoxy it all in there’s no turning back. Fyi I counted six threads, and it looks EXACTLY like the one NEW LEAF used? Is there any way I can tell if it’s doable?

Here’s a pic of the threads.

I need to also exchange a bushing as the one I got is wrong. Plus I need another (two total)of the bushings.

Ok, I just checked! It travels 1/8" - not more though. Hope I’m doing the turn right?

One issue I have is my 3/4" x 1/2" bushing has a BIG hexogon shape at the bottom? But it’s the only type
Of bushing they have at ace? I might have to go to home depot? Unless I can grind these down, cut em etc…

If you guys would spend as much time mowing lawns as you did on these little plastic planers you would have enough money to buy a Skil and be set for life.

Well I would be a hypocrite if I said I did not have some plastic in my collection.

Ideally I want a skil100, but I’m always short $100.00… what I’m pissed at is myself - bcuz thirty yrs ago I almost bought a brand new one in a hardware store! Again, I was short $60.00 bucks! I should have borrowed the $…I got about $400.00 right now, but I doubt I can find one for that cheap?

its your lucky day

$350 obo

I have all my bases covered.

my frequent flyers

Grasshopper - I tried, but that thing was gone before I could blink!

My part i think is ok? If not, I’m screwed. If it’s a ‘no go,’ part it off cheap and - just buy a planer w otf. Thanks anyway.

The shiney one is my Type 5.

Been pieceing it together.

All I need is a front shoe & lever.

Anybody?

Would appreciate any help.

Barry
