I need a new surfboard

Ring…“Hello I need a NEW surfboard can you make one for $200”…

Yes I can! Just drop off the blank and the $200 and I’ll call you when it’s ready for you to take to your glasser.

give me your number to pass along to them.

hahahahaha

is this a real call Ace???

BTW,

check out this board that Lavarat snatched up recently:

“Dang - I never new you could sell one for so much!” haha

You can get them for that price all day long in China.

Containers full.

Fuck China!

NICE ONE. Move the fins up more toward middle base middle box. Those boards will handle a way bigger wave than you would think. Make sure the boxes are still intact had some problems looks like that one did. Patch over boxes will reinforce em. Went to the original LOKBOX’s after those. That board is about 25yrs old. And yes it was a real call.

Damn, Ace, you get to have all the fun!

Location location location.

Eh,

Do the Velzy…

“Sure Kid”

I got one around here somewhere!

OH?

Did you say new?

Part 2…

Email…“I am on a budget how cheap can you make me a surfboard”.

This could be the answer to your pb Ace…

Z.

good one zourite!  Brings to mind some other options for inexpensive surfcraft…

This guy wants to pay LESS than a blank and a glass job cost…He saw some Chinese ones that fit his price wants me to beat it…It is the same old story buy 3 cheap boards that do not work for you or get a custom board that suits your needs for less than the 3 no good ones…Want cheap boards build em youself plenty guys here do and learn a lot in the process…

True ACE, and it’s frustrating dealing with this ignorance, I see this a lot in my field (remodeling contractor), guys who want something for nothing, guys who tell me I charge too much when they make ten times what I do (and I’m just barely gettin’ by), guys who overpaid some quack contractor that messed up their job and they want me to tear out his work and re-do it properly at a fraction of the price they paid him… it goes on and on.  I don’t even give free bids anymore.  I’ll give a free estimate by email if they send me the job parameters and photos by email, but I won’t drive out to look at a job for free.  Gas and time costs money, people have to face reality.  Sometimes it seems that the overseas factory boards and the Costco popouts have created a false economy in the surfboard industry, much like the “cash under the table” unskilled and semi-skilled labor crews and China made cabinetry have done to the remodeling industry.
