I used epoxy for the first time today and I think I'm in love

I laminated the bottoms of three boards today. I’ve only done two boards in PE, so maybe I’m just getting better with glassing. I really like not having so many vapors. The wet out of the rails went better than I thought it would. Overall, it was a good experience. I plan to get all the decks done tomorrow. I used S glass, and if I’m not crazy, that stuff is easier to work with than E glass. My only problem areas were around the Futures boxes. The stiffer glass doesn’t want to form cleanly into the humps from the boxes. All in all though, I’m sold on epoxy.

Epoxy is lovely. Low fumes, allegedly more environmentally friendly, clearer mixing ratios, cleans up with vinegar.

The worst part about epoxy is EPS.

I’m putting epoxy on PU at the moment. I know what you mean though. I have an 11’6" SUP shaped in EPS ready to glass. PU is more user friendly, for sure.
