Ever lie about a surfing injury, because you really were supposed be somewhere else other than out surfing, or because you didn't want your family or significant other to start telling you how "dangerous" surfing is?
When i got 5 stitches just under my lip from the nose of my 6x66 twin keel, it left a cool scar. If im clean shaven people usually look at it and i can see them wondering how i got it. No ones game to ask about it, but when someone does im thinking along the lines of a pub brawl/smashed beer bottle in the face. Sounds better than wiping out and copping a hit from my board hahaha
Hmmmm… judging from the last couple of threads you started Huck I’m thinking your feeling a little guilt about something. Come on. What’s really going on, Huck? Mike

Just my weird sense of humor spinning out. Honestly. I have my surfing under control. Really, I do.
I can see it too Rooster, we definately need to have an Intervention for Huck.
I'll bring the surf mags, surf DVD's and retro surf videos, surf posters, surf music CD's, latest surf podcasts and a selection of my original surfcraft designs....
Actually, I just thought there was a certain irony in the parallels, but surfing is a good addiction! And it does irk me when people who don't surf act like surfing is some kind of dangerous extreme sport, yeah right, more likely to get killed in your car on the way to the beach, than in the water! Thought there might be some funny stories out there.
Got some skin cancers removed recently, or like I call it “paid for sunshine”. Had the college kids where I bartend on weekends convinced a friend threw a dart in my face. It was classic, rode that out for about 3 weeks.
Me and my mates went on a classic surf trip way back in the 80s, it was perfect solid surf and one of our friends went into the beach after going over the falls on a heavy set, he was waving to us frantically but we thought it was just because he busted his board so we kept surfing, after an hour I felt guilty so I went in. It ended up my mate busted his forearm clean, nasty break, and we had to drive him 2 hours to a hospital with him still in his steamer, funny now, but not back then........
