Ice-Nine full color foam: two-toned series

After introducing our colored stringers we began to get requests for full color blanks. there are some cool full black and full red (NOT PINK) ones being worked on currently and I hope to have pictures soon, but thought I’d post this two-toned bumble bee we recently made. The first of our two-toned full color blanks. The Stringers are brown high-density foam and the black and yellow foam is our Mowses high performance foam in Superfly weight. It will be shaped up after AB3, complete with stingers we hope.

We look forward to getting more of these creative two-tone requests as it sure adds a bit of fun to our day. We’re still psyching up for Etmo’s swirl request (cue foam makers nightmare in 5…4…3…2…1…).

I got a chance to check her out at AB3. I like the looks of your foam.

I was wondering if you have made any lightweight blanks with high-density perimeter rails?
Something similar to the WMD that could be used for a sandwich construction. How does your “Straw” weight foam compare to 1 or 1.5lb eps? Have you guys vacuumed any high density skins to light foam cores?

We have not yet been asked to put high-density foam rails on one of our blanks, but could certainly do it. We do some custom perimeter stringers for customers but none have requested the high density foam for the rail. As for the vacuum bagging, we have several customers that use our blanks in a vacuum bagging process using a variety of skins. Some of the blanks ordered for these are stringerless whle others are standard stringered blanks. All of our curent foam formulations are Polyurethane so 1.5 lb density is not possible as it is with EPS. Give us a call at 714-288-2770 if we can be of further help.

looks really sweet. will make tinting and getting even color really easy. might have to order 1 or two blanks to try it out.
