I’m thinking of an early/mid 80s HIGH volume (thruster) shortboard for So Cal spring / summer. Any ideas (for a 6’3" 190 lb rider)…either a second generation lazor zap (double wing swallow) or a blunted bump squash…6’6" x 22"? Any thoughts from Swaylocks folks would be much appreciated…
…HIGHER volume than the Rusty 1984 and Channel Islands Black Beauty…
c’mon, no help at all? go ‘fishing’ instead? nobody likes 80s boards?
You said you’re thinking of a “early/mid 80s HIGH volume (thruster) shortboard for So Cal spring / summer. Any ideas (for a 6’3” 190 lb rider)…either a second generation lazor zap (double wing swallow) or a blunted bump squash…6’6" x 22"? I have a hard time imagining a 190 pound guy enjoying a really short board in SoCal summer slop – to me that’s classic longboard time – but maybe you can hit a south swell or something. I think a lazor zap might be a fun project. Or a pre-twinzer four fin. IMPO, don’t be too stuck on the past, just pick an idea you like and go wild.
