Thanks to your help my first board is being glassed. It’s a 6’8" x 21.5" egg.
This board is for bigger mushy days.
I’m crossing my fingers on this one ,hoping it rides OK. We’ll see.
Now board #2 is for smaller steeper waves. Here’s a link of the outline below. I’m thinking of using a 6’2"A blank? It will try to do a flat deck with boxy rails
maybe about 2.5" thick and a tri-fin setup… This is not the rocker I’m using in the PDF link. The 6’2"A blank is listed as having 4 3/4" nose rocker and 1 13/16" tail.
So my questions are
#1 is this the right blank or would you recommend a different one
#2 will this outline , 6’2"A rocker and a tri-fin setup complement each other if all goes well
or should I go with a more traditional 6’4" x 20" tri-fin setup?
The beachbreaks here in Oregon are generally pretty hollow and powerful. I would not probably ride an egg on most days but if I was going to shape one for it I would probably go with a narrower tail, more rocker and more foiled rails, especially in the tail to help the board hold into steeper beachbreak waves. If you are doing a fin system throwing in two extra boxes to make it a 5-fin convertible will give you the option of riding the board as a quad which can give you more hold and drive not to mention being pretty fun to play around with all the different combinations. Good luck, I hope it goes well for you.
