If Boards were music......

Inspired by an interview on Hulls with Steve K

Here is my take, whats yours

Hulls = Jazz, => subtle and little understood but generally appreciated

Fish = Blues => There’s just something about that beat gets you going inside

General retros = Soul R & B => Gotta have a decent horn section (volume), think Otis and Atlantic records

Logging = Country => Love it or hate it can all seem very repetitive to the outsider

Nuggets = Cajun => We’ve all kinda heard of it and it seems fun - Jambalaya

HP Longboards = easy listening => Just so well easy on the ears

Shortboards = Pop => Generally appealing but underneath quite repetitive, but can be improved with a bit of Soul

Bonzers = Heavy metal => If you love it, you love it and you wear it on your sleve

Guns = Modern Jazz => Only those who play or aspire to can appreciate it, and it becomes all consuming.

Hulls = Jazz, => subtle and little understood but generally appreciated Miles/Monk/Bird

Fish = Blues => There’s just something about that beat gets you going inside Robert Johnson/ Delta Blues - not the white boy clapton crap General retros = Soul R & B => Gotta have a decent horn section (volume), think Otis and Atlantic records STAX/VOLT Records - Memphis, the “other” music from the Kings town (Otis WAS the King of Soul, may God rest his Soul!)

Logging = Country => Love it or hate it can all seem very repetitive to the outsider not that big into country - so would that be Hank Sr. or Jr. or the new “pop” country?

Nuggets = Cajun => We’ve all kinda heard of it and it seems fun - Jambalaya Gumbo/?

HP Longboards = easy listening => Just so well easy on the ears Easy like Sunday Morning?, Carpenters easy, or izit cheezy?

Shortboards = Pop => Generally appealing but underneath quite repetitive, but can be improved with a bit of Soul Spears et al? Spice Gals? - its all shite! Bonzers = Heavy metal => If you love it, you love it and you wear it on your sleeve The Mighty Zep? Dio/Metallica

Guns = Modern Jazz => Only those who play or aspire to can appreciate it, and it becomes all consuming.Diana Krall/Elvis Costello/Burt Bacarach!
