Hey guys,
I will be in Montecito this weekend visiting girlfriends family.
Any suggestions on a surf spot to hit in the AM?
Anybody in the area?
Thanks,
Brad

Anybody?
[=Blue]Aloha Brad
Unless there is a very strong south, south swell running or a more rare summer North swell, you are pretty much going to be out of luck. Montecito is pretty tucked away and only catches bigger swells.
Late afternoon wind swells are a possibility if it is super windy in the channel as this can kick up a small rideable swell that will produce marginal but rideable waves inside the kelp beds at places like the pit, north of the harbor or south like Stanleys, tanks etc…
If there is a small south or sw swell head to Oxnard or Ventura. Good luck.
Montecito is a very cool laid back little town with romantic beaches that are good for walks on beach with your girlfriend. Sunsets are awesome. Maybe a good time to impress the girfriends family and pass on surfing as it won’t likely be too impressive unless something very unique is taking place.
Thanks a lot for the info. Bill. It looks like the waves won’t be worth it this weekend, so I guess I’ll just leave the boards at home.
Thanks again
Brad
[=Blue]Your welcome Brad
Between Montecito and Santa Barbara, along the beach there is the Biltmore Hotel. The road goes right past it and there is a rock wall along the edge of the road perfect for sitting on and watching the sunset. Your girlfriend will love it. From there you can walk the beach in either direction.
Have a great trip and score some big family points!
Bill,
Thanks for the advice, I’ll have to take her there tonight.
Thanks
Brad
