Innermost limits of Pure Fun

Even though this is a Greenough film, my favorite part is the very beginning when McTavish and others are surfing some real fun looking waves. The shots from the water are great. Any idea what type, size boards they are riding? thanks

mostly stubbs and vbottoms. hulls man.

Yea, Just watching the drop ins and turns is pretty cool. Have any idea on the lengths of the boards? thanks

7’8" to 8’ more or less.

I’d say in the begining of the film they are a bit longer than that, and towards the end they are shorter, more like you say.

yeah , they are 8’4" or so. the ones i kinda like are the ones in the camp-on-the-base segment.they really zip around in those small waves.i believe those are 8’4" as well.

There is one wave that I think is in that segment that I think is really cool, where the surfer is quite way back in the whitewater and he keeps his board really parallel to the wave and catches up to the pocket. This movie is a definite essential to any surf video collection.

Thanks for the replies. I’m having a 7’ 8" egg made, have not had one in a while. What about those McTavish pullouts! The movie is fun to watch.

yep! that wave is pretty cool-you can really see that board hook-up and zip out of that whitwater section…from way back, then zzzziiippp!
