Its like a hitachi meets a skil
hey Ec creation,
i have been an avid planer collector for about the past 6 months and have developed quite a collection. I believe that is the hitatchi f-90 that jim phillips uses in master shaper to remove the bulk foam. i have one of the new skil similar that your other thread was discussing. The main planer i use is one of my rockwell 653’s and the clark foam. the skil similar will be used a bit more once i take it apart and make the depth adjustment knob a little bit “stickier”. The next planer i want to get is a skil, but i am already so comfortable with the rockwells i may just keep collecting them. hope that helps.

Austin’s not kidding. For a while there he was getting one planer a week. I thought he was going to #@it himself when he found a pallet full of rockwell’s and skill 100’s for sale on a government website. Unfortunately it went for quite a few $1000 and he passed on even though it might have been a good deal.

Hi TSaunders or Austin,
Could you guys post the link for that government website?
I don’t ned a planer right now but there might be enough interest out there for people to buy in bulk…just a thought…
Cheers,
Rio
It is a Hitachi F30. Kinda pricey. Clark Foam modified these for a few years. I think Jim is using a Clark Foam modified F30 in his DVD. I had one for a while, but did not like the feel/balance. Very powerful, rivaling the big Rockwell.
